Well, gosh, I'm making this up as I go along.  Most years, I _intend_ 
to arrive early, fail, and end up standing in a significant queue and
taking my pint of ale and sometimes bar food outside.  This time, 
my plan is, as mentioned, to depart home at 2pm sharp, stop _briefly_
at West Portal to acquire British loot, and then arrive circa 3pm 
at Pelican Inn.

Is that early enough on a November 5th to avoid crowding?  I have no
idea, but will know more on Nov. 5th.  I suppose, if you wanted expert
inside information, it would be prudent to telephone that fine
establishment.
