You can get a pretty decent discount when switching from Shaw to Telus.
We moved TV and Internet, entered a 3 year agreement and will save about
$900 the first year. We left phone with Shaw as they have some features
(voicemail to email) that Telus doesn't offer. If you are thinking of
switching you can also call Shaw and let then know you are considering
switching to Telus and see if they will offer you a discount. They were
prepared to offer us one but Telus offered better TV packages for less.
I have also used Vonage VOIP which worked good with Telus broadband.
