I use Shaw for JUST internet, and I use Ooma for my phone.  Works great 
(with the exception that if there is an internet outage, you also have a 
phone outage, but you probably also have a cell?).  Ooma allows for lots 
of call blocking options, vmail etc.  Beats shaw phone in every way for 
the princely sum of about $12 a month.
I've dumped cable tv for streaming services.  I didn't save much money, 
but I was far more interested in avoiding commercials.  Now I simply 
cannot tolerate normal tv anymore.
