Hey All,

I would be interested in giving a talk (lightning or otherwise) at some
date - likely early to mid summer. The topic I have in mind is 'rolling
your own router' - in other words, building a custom router with
GNU/Linux, shorewall (or whichever firewall of choice), legacy hardware
and a stack of NIC's. I built a similar router after using DD-WRT for a
number of years.

I would incorporate some talk of OpenWRT and the customizable
router firmware phenomenon (and perhaps touch on why this 'feature'
isn't more common and possibly what could be done to encourage it with
manufacturers). Also a quick look into what else is available on the
hardware side of things (the homebrew router, for example)

I also thought more about how to promote meetings and increase exposure
for the LUG... Here are two things that were mentioned at the meeting
and may be worth considering further:

1) A Meetup Group - as per Neil's suggestion at the last meeting this
could be a useful tool to arrange events and meetings with while also
increasing the exposure of CLUG.

2) Eventbrite - using Eventbrite to post notifications about events and
meetings.
