Firefox Tech Talk Next Week

Hey, penguin fans and curious onlookers:

I'll hold a Tech Talk next Friday (10/24/09) to discuss where Firefox
development is headed now that they are going to more frequent releases
(with 3.6, 3.7, and 4 all in concurrent development) and the pushes to
leverage HTML5 and identity to create a better web. I'll also go
through a walkthrough on my laptop (with a clean Ubuntu install) of how
to make a simple extension (and thereby discuss how
Firefox/Thunderbird/Seamonkey/Flock/Sunbird/Songbird/..... are all
structured).

This'll replace the normal Thursday meeting.

Anyone got any other suggestions for it? I'll send out a more
"official" announcement of it tomorrow and get some flyers throughout
the Loop campus Monday. If someone can whip up some designs for flyers
(I'll probably just do something simple tomorrow) I'd appreciate that,
ditto if someone wouldn't mind putting up flyers in Lincoln Park on
Monday.

We've got room 380 in the student center booked from 6PM. XULRunner,
XPCOM, and anything related to using C in Firefox or Gecko is just a
bit outside my experience. If it is in yours, feel free to come and
enlighten us (or tell us how much easier things are programming for
webkit or something) :P
