If the driver is open source, it'll work under x86, amd64, MIPS, etc,
etc provided the hardware can handle the device.

The only closed source drivers you'd probably use (excluding stuff like
firmware with open source drivers) is likely just the video, and those
are released for amd64/emt64 too.

Unix/C was made for source compatibility regardless of the actual
architecture it is run on. Thankfully Linux inherits that :)
