How do I run 32-bit programmes on 64-bit linux?

I have a bunch of programmes that have been compiled for 32-bit Linux
and I'm running 32-bit. I could track down all the source or run a
virtual machine, but is there a simpler way?
For example this programme 'fastboot':

bash: ./fastboot: No such file or directory
