Thanks for that. Apparently my AspireOne does have Intel graphics:

The comments I made were based on my experience with an out-of-the-box
Trisquel install. Can you (or anyone) recommend any tweaks I could
make to get a better graphical performance? More importantly than 3D
games, it would be great if I could use this laptop for simple video
editing.

I have found after a bit of experimentation that some games work
better if I swap Compiz for MetaCity as the Window Manager. I might
try the 3D games again with that tweak in place.

That's good to hear. Hopefully things have progressed since the days
when Stallman labeled them inVidious. Perhaps Valve's move to creating
"Steam on Linux" is prompting graphics hardware companies to take
GNU/Linux more seriously? There's still a ways to go though:
