---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jim Cheetham <[email protected]> Date: Fri, Jan 17, 2014 at 2:55 PM Subject: Open BSD Foundation Lecture, 5.30pm Thu 23 Jan 2014 To: DunLUG <[email protected]>, [email protected], dunedin-makerspace <[email protected]>, NZ Linux Users Group <[email protected]> The OpenBSD Foundation will be in Dunedin in early 2014 as a guest of the University of Otago, for their n2k14 hackathon. Theo de Raadt will be presenting an open lecture on the state of the OpenBSD Project, which produces a FREE, multi-platform UNIX-like operating system. Their efforts emphasize portability, standardization, correctness, proactive security and integrated cryptography, and on the way they have produced sub-projects like OpenSSH. The lecture will be on Thursday 23rd January 2014, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the University of Otago, in Seminar Room 1 of the St David Lecture Theatre Complex, on the corner of St David and Cumberland Streets, opposite the Centre for Innovation building. https://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=st+david+lecture+theatre+complex,+dunedin Please circulate this announcement widely :-) If you are intending to attend, please RSVP to let me keep track of numbers. We'll probably decamp to Eureka on Albany Street afterwards, unless there is a different consensus at the time. --- Jim Cheetham, Information Security, University of Otago, Dunedin, N.Z. ✉ [email protected] ☏ +64 3 470 4670 ☏ m +64 21 227 0015 ⚷ OpenPGP: B50F BE3B D49B 3A8A 9CC3 8966 9374 82CD C982 0605 _______________________________________________ DunLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ethernal.org/listinfo/dunlug DunLUG Wiki - http://dunlug.kallisti.net.nz/
