correct me if I'm wrong but isn't/dev/md0 a kernel sort of concept that 
doesn't really exist until after the kernel has booted (ie not while grub is 
running)

On my raided home server I think I made a partition for /boot that's not part 
of the raid on one of the disks and manually mirror it on another (I'm sure 
there's a better way)
