Why does it need to be stored in NZ, as opposed to somewhere else?

Have you considered using Mega to share data? I don't know if their
public-share URLs require a specific client to retrieve data though
(i.e. I don't know if wget/curl can retrieve stuff, but a javascript
browser could), and perhaps that doesn't fit in with your workflow.
