I also did an unintended upgrade on one machine, it had "stable" in the
sources list and I installed a package via ansible (so I wasn't looking
directly at what it was doing.) I ended up with a half wheezy/half
jessie system which required fixing.

I'm now running jessie on at least 20 machines, including 5 desktops.
I'm very happy with it. The issues that I've had to deal with though
include:

  * selinux problems (some of our servers have selinux enabled, with
custom rule sets. These were causing the upgrades to partly fail,
and the rules need to be re-worked).
  * a few obscure packages are no longer in wheezy, meaning I needed to
    move to substitute packages.
  * On one machine, the trackpad failed to work after the upgrade, I
needed to install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, when previously it
    had worked with just xserver-xorg-input-evdev
  * An annoying change in gnome: you now have to type the program name
from the first letter when searching for it, so I used to type dov
for icedove and wea for iceweasel, now I use i and an arrow key.

After dealing with those problems, wheezy is working well for me.

Cheers,
Alex
