Hei kōnā Strypey >> Research Bazaar is coming to Otago: software carpentry, digital literacy, compelling seminars, engaging discussion. Free of charge! From the 2nd to the 4th of February 2016, the University of Otago will be hosting its inaugural Research Bazaar (ResBaz), a simultaneous, worldwide event designed to promote and teach the computing and digital collaboration skills that now play a central role in today’s fast-paced research. With a combination of keynote research seminars, hands-on training workshops and group discussion sessions, ResBaz is targeted at postgraduate research students and early career researchers who are wanting to upskill in these areas. Introductory and intermediate workshops will taught within the Software Carpentry framework on: · Linux shell scripting · the use of ‘R’ for data analysis and visualisation · the use of git for version control and collaboration · Additional workshops will cover reproducible research, high performance computing and computational modelling. This event is free, but spaces are limited. Registration and website for ResBaz Otago will be opening soon, however if would like to secure a place or additional information, please email [email protected] to register your interest. << _______________________________________________ DunLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ethernal.org/listinfo/dunlug DunLUG Wiki - http://dunlug.kallisti.net.nz/
