If you have control of the LDAP server, make sure you can observe =
whatever logs it outputs during authentication (you may need to =
configure your LDAP server to be more verbose).

That might help confirm any issues with the PHP client connecting at =
all, and perhaps show what authentication issues are occurring.

According to a comment on the ldap_bind() docs you can also get =
additional diagnostic info =
