Hiring a venue for 3 days that is big enough and allows 24 hour access , lunch dinner snacks for 60 people over three days, internet, power plus all the other little costs that are associated with running events like this.
Similar events have been held in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga, Palmerston North, Christchurch which cost that same. They didn't have a student discount though, I argued hard for a student discount.
If you aren't willing to invest $75 in starting your own business then I guess this event is not for you.
