Samuel Thibault <[email protected]> has announced the release of
Debian GNU/Hurd 2013.

The release consist of CDs, DVD, and NETINSTALL iso's, and a KVM image.
32 bit only.
These are available at
http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian-cd/hurd-i386/current/
The release announcement is at
http://www.debian.org/ports/hurd/hurd-news.en.html

Please note that this is a port release and not part of the official
Debian release.

While Debian GNU/Hurd has a relationship with Linux and the BSDs it is
significantly different to these os's so take care to read the
documentation!

The discs burnt from the iso's failed to install on the two machines I
tried, but it is running nicely with KVM.

Nomenclature.
Debian knows it as Debian GNU/Linux.
It is commonly known as the Hurd, but the kernel is actually gnumach and
Hurd runs on top of it.
Insiders call it GNU as it was the developing kernel system of GNU until
Linux pushed it aside.

Enjoy,

Phil.
