Lost WAN over HAM thread???

There was a thread a while back about some guys that had set up a
WAN running a WiFi network boosted through a single HAM aerial here in
Taradale. I cant find the thread (no search tool on the online archives
- and google wasn't any help, even using
site:www.linux.net.nz/pipermail/hblug/ in the search string) but it
could be the words i am using. I know they had a HAM licence. I searched
"ham" and "aerial". 

If anyone can recall the thread for me i'd be grateful. Someone with
the whole HBLUG history archived on GMail may be able to find it - then
point me the right thread or month here:

An update of how it's going now by those concerned would also be good. I
intend to throw the idea into a discussion about "mesh computing to
bypass future internet censorship" on NZOSS.

If you don't know what mesh computing is the OLPC project has a good

You can turn on boxes individually. You can also move the computers and
the world (representing internet connectivity) around to see how the
signal strengths increase and decrease.
