Also some of the HP DV5 series are of pretty good spec, just avoid the 
Athlon Dual Cores advertised no 64bit if you notice!
I find the DV5 series to be built like a tank

If she really wants a laptop, wait a month or two - Win7 is due to be 
released soon and all the Vista laptops are bound to drop like rocks 
price wise. Also apparently theres a rumor that if you hand in your 
Vista licence, you can get half off Windows 7 - not sure if that counts 
for OEM sales of Vista

Its a good spec for a sony, and damn what a price!
