Re: karmic internet issues

0k so I don't know anything about networking.  What should I change file permissions to execute this:
sudo echo "nameserver 202.67.222.222" >/etc/resolv.conf

I just ran live cd of 9.04 & got internet, Very tempting to roll back. If you can think of any packages I may need install, then I can on Monday.

Check your typing again.  If you type:

sudo echo "nameserver 208.67.222.222" >/etc/resolv.conf

you definitely should be able to change /etc/resolv.conf.

You also didn't answer my first question, which was what was the
contents of your current resolv.conf file (now renamed
/etc/resolv.conf.bak if you did the first of the two steps I
suggested).  Knowing the current contents might have helped us confirm
the diagnosis.
