I don't know about pavillion but I have Pclinuxos running on a Compaq 
Presario, AMD Turion 64, nvidia graphics.  I use broadband, but 
understand no issues with wifi.  It has a live CD to be able to test 
with.  Pclinuxos has a hardware database - I'll see if I can find it and 
post back if I do.
