Good luck.  If she doesn't like Ubunutu I'd suggest try Pclinuxos KDE - 
more familiar for ex Windows users :-)

My first successful Linux was Mandriva (10 I think), and when they went 
all corporate, I looked around and tried lots of flavours.  Can't 
remember them all   ... Mepis, Debian, DSL, Slackware, Knoppix, Suse, 
Vector, ubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu, and others, but stuck with Pclinuxos 
..... been about 7 years now, though I do still try other flavours from 
time to time :-)

Anyway - hope she finds one she enjoys :-)
