Unplug all drives, leave only main OS drive in, if it doesnt work on one

plug the OS drive into another controller - indicative by the colors of 
the sata connections on the board.

Either that tried another hard drive - I have actually found (Windows 
Vista & 7) that it wont install on certian drives on certian chipsets.
I know it sounds weird, but its totally true.
