If its an external ethernet connected modem it doesnt have to be 'compliant' with any os. They are probably just referring to any bundled software that came with it. - you wont need any of it. Just access the modem setup menu from its IP address ( usually 192.168.0.0 or similar ) there will be a section in the setup manual concerned with 'manual setup' for those who dont want to use the windows setup wizard. chris Rose McGillicuddy wrote: Hi I'm in the process of changing ISPs and they've sent me a new modem D-Link DSL-526B.
