Sorted: No error messages but Nautilus would just crash/exit when sharing was ok'd For some reason it does not show the 'sharing hand' on the icon, but the disk IS actually shared..(tested from another pc) Yes had to put the drives into fstab to get Ubuntu to auto-mount them. This does present its own (permissions?) issues tho. If I don't sudo umount them before rebooting they will fail to re-mount after the rebooting. Dont ask me why... chris.
