Interesting. Perhaps it just doesnt like/recognize my graphics card well 
enough.

I'm installing it on an old Acer lappy (to replace a broken vista 
install for a client) at the moment.
The liveCD came up ok with unity so I'm presuming the install will work 
ok as well.
