I strongly encourage everyone on the list to hammer on this subject  
in any way you see fit. Ultimately, whatever the result turns out to  
be is how the group will be run. So, please voice your thoughts.

If the goal was to produce a WVU group, I would support the creation  
of all the needed by-laws, constitution, etc ... Becoming an official  
WVU group has distinct advantages, one of which is being able to use  
WVU resources (such as rooms in the lair or their network  
connections). Finding a Staff sponsor would probably be very easy,  
depending on the formal requirements of the position. I know of at  
least several people that work at the university (myself included)  
that are involved with the group.

iirc, the biggest problem before was finding enough students to get  
involved to fill all of the positions. All of the officers have to be  
students, correct?

Correct, I stepped up initially because someone needed to. Honestly I  
do not have the desire to hold the "leadership" title. I'd do it if i  
had too (or voted in), but that isn't the type of leader I think this  
group ultimately needs.

Technical Officer for what? What technical problems could possibly  
come up that anyone else in this group couldn't address in a normal  
meeting?

This goes back to "why have so many positions?"
