What I had to do was the following: 1. Boot PC with the card not fitted. 2. loaded modules orinoco, orinoco_cs, hermes 3. Fit card, PC should beep. 4. tail -10 /var/log/messages and write down the 2 addresses after manfid 5. create /etc/pcmcia/hermes.conf with the following in it. device "orinoco_cs" class "network" module "hermes", "orinoco", "orinoco_cs" # LinkSys WPC11 card "Instant Wireless Network PC Card" manfid 0x0274,0x1612 #Substitute your addresses here bind "orinoco_cs" 6. restart pcmcia services - /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart -------------------------------------------------- even though it seems it is for the LinkSys card. The only thing I could not get is the addresses in manfid 0x0274,0x1612 line above (any suggestions?). Here is what I've got: ------------------------------------------------ [root@hp andrei]# cat /etc/pcmcia/hermes.conf device "orinoco_cs" class "network" module "hermes", "orinoco", "orinoco_cs" # LinkSys WPC11 card "Instant Wireless Network PC Card" manfid 0x0274,0x1612 #Substitute your addresses here bind "orinoco_cs" [root@hp andrei]# /sbin/service pcmcia restart Shutting down PCMCIA services: done. Starting PCMCIA services: cardmgr[3561]: watching 2 sockets done. [root@hp andrei]# /sbin/iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. ------------------------------------------ Any suggestions? > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------ > OK i got it working just fine. > What I had to do was the following: > 1.
