I would highly encourage someone to step up to find a meeting place on campus. The rooms that I have access too are limited unless we are an official WVU group. Scott's Run is just too far out of the way and I see no benefit to us to meet out there. The benefits at this point seem to run in one direction (Us developing AND hosting a website for them, planning to rebuild their network, etc). As far as being a meta-meeting, this was supposed to be the meeting to end all meetings on the topic. Though, from the sounds of things that isn't going to happen ... which saddens me greatly. Like david I am tired of all the bantering back and forth. Since only one person has stepped up to be "leader" of MorLUG I will propose tonight that we take action to make MorLUG an official WVU Organization. My understanding is that this would not limit community members from attending and/or participating in our meetings. Would give us the much needed on campus meeting location, and be requirement would give us all the formal BS that Jonathan is looking for. There are several people capable of being the staff advisor for it, Andrei showed interest and I could fill that position as well if needed. I would also propose that we leave the drafting of all the documentation for the group to the Student officers of the group and not the group as a whole. Also, the "staff advisor" should really just stand back and let the student officers do their best with running the show. Depending on how the vote turns out tonight I think will determine where the groups next meeting location will be. If the WVU idea is voted in, David or Andrei can secure a WVU room for us for the July meeting. If Jonathan's proposal stands (he takes charge and starts drafting by-laws, per his email earlier) we'll meet per his judgement.
