I wonder if there is a Linux/Unix class room at ESB? As small as 15 workplaces would be OK. Last year I've setup a class-room like that. Unfortunately, at our department some professors insisted on using Windows-only environment, and in the end I lost -the classroom was converted into Windows. I hope that CSEE is more progressive minded in this respect. So, if there is no linux class room, I wonder if we can push to setup one? Like, maybe a letter from Morlug + ACM + myself requesting a to convert an lab or part of it into Linux? After all, computer science shouldn't be just about Microsoft, or should it? Regarding my particular involvement, I intend to teach a courses on Computational Mechanics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics, and eventually on cluster computing and parallel CFD. I will be using open source software and my own codes. -- Andrei V. Smirnov MulPhys.com http://smirnov.mae.wvu.edu
