Some WVU groupwise comments.

I've used the groupwise client under linux without problems.  It lacks 
some of the functionality of the windows client.  There are 2 main 
features I've noticed that are lacking:

1) The windows client gives you the ability to setup filters to do mail 
filtering.  This does not exist in the Linux client.

2) I'm unable to send mail to the distribution lists in groupwise using 
the linux client.

Other than using the WVU OIT suggested mechanisms, there are two good 
options for reading groupwise email:

A) You can read your groupwise email via imaps/pop3s, so you can use any 
IMAP client and read your groupwise email.  Keep in mind that imaps is 
not an officially support OIT service, however it is available.

B) fetchmail.  Using fetchmail, you could effectively forward your mail 
from groupwise to gmail while keeping all headers intact.

Peronsonally, for the past few months I've been happily reading my 
groupwise email using Mozilla Thunderbird.  It's been working extremely 
well for me.
