I've nuked the flashplugin-installer (which uses a wrapper around the 32 bit Adobe executable on 64 bit systems) from my Oneiric system, and replaced it with the 2.2 beta 64 bit version from Adobe via the Firefox addon: Flash-Aid - http://www.webgapps.org/add-ons/flash-aid The add-on downloads and compiles it for you (with proper privilege checking, etc.) and can alert you to any updates available. As much as I dislike Adobe, given that Flash is still widely used, this makes it slightly less painful on Ubuntu - better performance (i.e. playback), and no more pesky npviewer.bin processes gumming up the works. Hope that helps you (or someone else out there).
