I'd also like to add that I do not have Adobe's Flash plugin installed; I have Gnash installed for when it works, and have gotten along just fine without running any Flash things. I hate Flash. It is a horribly bloated, inefficient mess of a platform under the control of a single entity, leaving its users at the mercy of their Adobe's whims. I have nothing against the language, but the monopoly of Adobe's horrible implementation. And it's hard to completely escape. I have bought three (indie) games for Linux that use Flash, and have given me grief in one form or another. I don't even want Flash to die, despite my contempt for it; I just want it to stop sucking. Java, on the other hand, I *do* despise as a language. End of rant. Don't let me derail this support thread into a flame war. :P --Aidan P.S. I'd go with Dave's suggestion. I find the Debian Way to install the Flash plugin to be a bit crummy. _______________________________________________ NZLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.linux.net.nz/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nzlug
