Sr. Systems Management Software Engineer

Organization: Engineering

Location: Beaverton, OR

 

Position Description: The Company is seeking a Senior Systems Management
Software Engineer in its Beaverton office.

 

*         The Senior Systems Management Software Engineer will join an
existing team dedicated to the ongoing development of systems management
applications and specialized tools for developing those applications.  

*         Develop systems management applications. 

*         Develop system management services (e.g., discovery, asset
management, provisioning, configuration, control, etc.). 

*         Develop foundational technologies to support system management
applications and services: asset repository, event management capabilities,
policy engines, etc. 

 

Qualifications:

 

*         A working knowledge in Java and C/C++ development is required.

*         A working knowledge of systems management protocols and
technologies (e.g., SNMP, IPMI, WBEM, CIM, etc.). 

*         A working knowledge of one or more of the following: Linux
(Fedora, Monta Vista, Wind River), VM Ware, Blue Cat. 

*         A working knowledge of JUnit, Eclipse, Perforce, and a bug
tracking system, along with Linux automation including Shell scripting, and
Perl, or other scripting support in TCL/Tk or Python, etc.

*         Strong work ethic.

*         3-5 years experience in software development. 

*         BS in Computer Science, MS preferred.

Engineer in its Beaverton office.

*	The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer will join an existing
team that is dedicated to the ongoing development and execution of detailed
white and black box test plans for the UXComm AutonomIQ line of products. 
*	On-going validation and extension of existing test processes in
support of customer facing requirements for product stability and
functionality as a function of these results is a critical role in the
performance of these responsibilities. 
*	Development of test harnesses and automated test procedures. 

Qualifications:

*	A working knowledge in Java and C/C++ development is required. 
*	A working knowledge of JUnit, Perforce, Apache, JavaScript, and a
bug tracking system, along with Linux automation including Shell scripting,
and Perl, or other scripting support in TCL/Tk or Python, etc.

There are two positions available.

Function as one of the technical leaders within the organization. You will
also be an active participant in the core team contributing to the overall
architecture standards team at Fios. In addition, the team lead will
function as a coach and mentor to engineering team members both on these
standards and on areas of technical expertise. 

Responsibilities

*	Technical lead for engineering teams (up to 8 people) that may
contain both Fios and outsource-based resources; 
*	Work with the architect and appropriate business representatives to
ensure an appropriate technical solution is designed and delivered to
support Fios business needs; 
*	Contribute to Fios architecture, standards and processes; 
*	Coach team members on Fios architecture standards and processes; 
*	Coach users and business analysts in the benefits and implications
of different technical approaches; 
*	Mentor engineering team on technical areas of expertise; 
*	Coordinate and/or participate in technical vendor and product
assessments - including recommendations; 
*	Identify and assess the use of new technologies and recommend
appropriate uses for Fios; 
*	Develop design requirements and test plans as part of requirements
gathering; 
*	Coordinate technical vendor and product recommendations; 
*	Effectively communicate team status to management; 
*	Contribute to planning/estimating technical design and development

Qualifications

*	BS or BSE or equivalent experience; 
*	Strong understanding and experience designing and implementing user
interactions, workflow processes and content or document management; 
*	Mastery of technical design and development techniques in at least
one - preferably multiple platforms; 
*	Strong understanding of cross platform and cross-functional system
integration; 
*	In-depth understanding of interactions and dependencies between
applications, operating systems, and operational support technologies
(i.e.,. alerts and scheduling); 
*	Thorough understanding of user interface and workflow designs; 
*	Strong understanding of content or document management is preferred.
Some understanding is required; 
*	Comprehensive understanding of data design and access techniques
(document processing and relational database); 
*	Ability to coordinate small to medium size technical efforts based
on high level scope and project plan;

*	Ensure all technical implementations and code adheres to Fios

Qualifications

*	BS or BSE or equivalent experience preferred; 
*	7+ years of technical experience, minimum 5 years of direct
development, analysis and design; 
*	Strong understanding and experience of designing and implementing

*	Mastery of technical design and development techniques in at least
one - preferably multiple platforms; 
*	Strong understanding of cross platform and cross-functional system
