Apartment search...

Hello,

I'm going to be moving to Portland at the end of July and I was hoping I
could get some apartment searching tips. I've been looking at apartments
online, but thought I would ask for some advice. I'm looking for a place
that's in a safer area of Portland where I can get DSL or some other
form of broadband.

Can you let me know if there are any good rental agencies or any which I
should avoid? 

I'm looking for places in Beaverton or near Lewis and Clark College.
I've seen some interesting places that are 2 miles west of Washington
Square Mall. Is this a decent area?
