Kevin,

    First:
      put these lines in /etc/portage/package.keywords:

=net-nds/openldap-2.1.30-r1 ~x86
=net-nds/phpldapadmin-0.9.3 ~x86

That will allow the version of LDAP w/ functional replication, and
PHP Ldap Admin.

    Second:

The smbadduser script can be found in /usr/share/samba/scripts.
It took some hackery for them to work for me, but it did work.

    Finally:

       Configure /etc/openldap/slapd.conf, then edit
/var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpldapadmin/config.php [from config.php.example]

That will get you going on basic Gentoo differences. I am trying to
work out a time when Tobias can come down to my office, with John and
myself, and we can discuss LDAP and Kerberos.

thanks,
   Joshua
