THANKS, GUYS!!!

You're right, Robby. I was highlighting and pushing the delete key. Of course, that didn't work!

I tried lprm again, got the same list of jobs. Tried lprm 00000051 (one of the jobs) and "job or printer not found" came up. Then I tried lprm 19, etc., on down the line to 31, and it says hpdeskjet5550 is ready, no entries. However, the printer was still pulling papers through. I found how to get into CUPS easily, on Manage Jobs there were no jobs pending; on Manage Printer it said Printer Slate: idle, accepting jobs. Parallel port busy;, etc.

Anyway, I turned the printer off and let it sit a while, then turned it on and printed out a test page, and now there is paper in the printer and it is not pulling it through - behaving itself!

Hooray!!! I think it's fixed! I'm printing out something I need for this weekend and it is acting normal.

THANKS SO MUCH!!! Scott, my son-in-law in Hong Kong, will be proud of us!!
