Sorry, I re-read and saw that just now.

But it's interesting that there's a PSU that *does* make the fans
spin, even if it doesn't POST.  Even with a bad CPU, the thing should
still power up.  Heck, what happens if there's nothing on the mobo?

With the PSU that works, have you tried clearing/resetting the CMOS?

Heck, maybe the mobo wants too much current at startup.  Might be
worth looking for a bigger PSU at FG after all...
