Yes, it is possible.  You can simply boot the rh7 disc in rescue mode,
and once you have a shell prompt from the disc, mount your root
partition and edit the passwd (or shadow) file to remove the root
password.  Then you can boot into the system again and set the password
to something which you hopefully won't forget again.  (Make sure all
network cables are unplugged before you do this: you'll be completely
open and exposed to anyone who tries to login as root remotely!).
Another way would be to put linux single in your LILO boot prompt, which
will give you a root shell after bootup, in single-user mode.  In this
case, you can change the password using the passwd utility directly, and
on next boot, it will be what you expect it to be.
