Hi jopoy, this is what i got when i type the following

1. in #ifconfig theres a lot of things which include our ip address
=20
2. in #route -n therse a lot of numeric values with DESTINATION - GATEWA=
Y - GENMASK etc.

3. but im confuse with the value i found in #cat /etc/resolv.conf
the content of the file.
#cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 202.203.180.17
search ttc.com
i try to remove the value, change ip address, but ther result unknown h=
ost=20
4. #ping www.google.com unknow host
btw, i try to ping other pc(win98) in the network and it respons with the=
result. so it seems that the linux machine is conneted to the network.
