En fait, je crois que tu peux faire tout ça à partir de ton CD Mandrake: 
au démarrage, tu as le choix d'aller dans un mode de dépannage où tu 
peux entrer des commandes (dont, je présume, celle suggérée par 
Étienne). Je ne l'ai cependant jamais vraiment essayé, n'ayant jamais eu 
besoin de dépannage en ce sens...

Au pire des pires, tu peux toujours aussi réinstaller Mandrake: il 
devrait résinstaller LILO je présume.
