  open to 10pm.

Kevin Dankwardt having kindly arranged new meeting space at Cavium
cafeteria (2315 N 1st St. in north San Jose), anyone with local
knowledge of a good post-meeting place can help.  And, let's face it,
the working core of Silicon Valley ain't a happening place after 9pm,
nor is this a gourmet paradise.  (Mountain View isn't, either, but 
at least there are more places open late.)



Ideal place:

o  open past 9pm
o  has hot food service
o  is within ~3 miles
o  has parking (makes downtown SJ difficult)
o  not too expensive
o  not too noisy, e.g., avoid death by karaoke
o  isn't 21-and-older
o  has at least some tables for 8 or so, and not too crowded at late dinner



o  Round Table Pizza, 730 N 1st St, just north of Tasman, San Jose,
   2.6 miles from Cavium.  Open to 10pm.

o  Denny's, 2077 N 1st St., about two long blocks (0.5 mile south 
   of Cavium.  Never great, but reliably... Denny's.  24 hours, 

o  Chipotle Mexican Grill, 1751 N 1st St., 1 block farther south than
   the Denny's, 0.7 mile from Cavium.  Open to 10pm.

o  NYPD Pizza & Dogs, 1751 N 1st St #10, next door to Chipotle's, 0.7
   mile from Cavium.  Thin-crust pizza, Coney Island hotdogs, cheescake.  
   Open to 10pm.

o  Okayama Express, 2587 N 1st St., 2 block n. of Cavium, just s. of
   Trimble, 0.5 mile from Cavium.  classic Japanese dishes including 
   sushi.  Open to 10pm.

o  Sangam Indian Cuisine, 2565 N. 1st., same strip mall, 2 blocks n. of
   Cavium.  Open to 10pm.

o  Inchins Bamboo Garden (Asian fusion),  55 River Oaks Pl #70 @ 
   N. 1st St., San Jose, 2 miles north of Cavium.  Open to 10pm.

o  Honeyberry, 3655 N 1st St. @ Tasman, San Jose.  2.6 miles n. of Cavium.
   Cafe with Thai tea, horchata, roti buns, gelato, etc.  Said to
   have lots of space for groups.  Open to 10pm.

o  Subway, 3730 N. 1st St. @ Tasman.  2.6 miles n. of Cavium.
   You know, counter-service sandwiches and salads.  Open to 10pm.

o  Piatti, Italian, Rivermark Vilage, 3906 Rivermark Parkway @ Montague
   Expressway, Santa Clara, 2.1 miles from Cavium.  Open to 9:30pm.

o  Peet's Coffe & Tea, Rivermark Vilage, 3932 Rivermark Parkway @

o  The Prolific Oven, cafe with varied menu including fresh baked goods.

Suggest people huddle at the end of Wednesday's meeting, pick one, try
it, report to the mailing list whether it's a keeper.

My advice;  If paralysed by excessive choice, go for the Round Table 
Pizza.
