plz note orig spec: 25MB linux running in memory

.... So, they would seem an odd choice for that

crypto project was/is obviously separate from rPI/arduino project

always build, within reason and deliver what the paying customer wants
per negotiated written specs/contracts

Why do Raspbian and the like not suffice?

boot rPI with support for required devices should be trivial

i'm not sure if raspbian meets initial requirements above ( 25M upgradeable
distro running in memory ) .. very few distro runs in memory ( /dev/loop or
/dev/ram0 etc ) and not in the cloud and not a phone .. a portable physical
device ( rPI or arduino ) with wifi, bluetooth, sms, gps, camera, other
goodies

other environmental specs not previously posted to svlug: must survive drop
on the floor test, bumpy mountain bike ride tests, snow skiing cold test,
hanging in the dessert, but no water proof or submersible requirement yet

Relative to Raspbian:

i'm not a fan of systemd

According to the following, you can also install sans-systemd Devuan on
