Most of Moffit Park used to be Lockheed Missiles and Space Company Research for the Astronautics Division. The Astronautics Division got billions from Reagan for Star Wars research. That area was pretty lax, compared to the Missiles Division over on 3rd street -- barbed wire fences, armed military guards and checkpoints at doors. Even so, I think Weird Stuff was there before LMSC's Astronautics Division. I've been to Weird Stuff and HSC and the flea market. I think most folks who have built their own systems have been there. It was fun, because you would always see some interesting stuff while walking around. Those were the days. The valley is in constant flux. Nothing is permanent.
