That's a done deal, just as sure as Microsoft hijacked the .doc
extension (I mean really, in the early 80's, didn't we all use .doc for
anything that was a document?) At this point, using "meetup" when you

"meeting."

Here in Orlando, we have (in my opinion) a really good Python group and
a crappy one that later became associated with meetup.com. It's big
iron all the time. Everyone refers to our *meetings* as *meetups* and
then goes to the wrong meeting.

This is actually very ontopic for our local LUG, GoLUG. We're thinking
of having virtual meetings via Jitsi. Do you think Jitsi would be
adequare, or do you think it would be better having our meetings
actually face to face? Of course, if we don't find a physical venue we
might not have a choice :-)

I wasn't saying the key-signing meeting shouldn't be done via meetup. I
just wanted to use the appropriate word (now that a company hijacked
the long used word "meetup").
