As I'm sure you're aware, your globel settings can be automated in your .vimrc, and I'm pretty sure that a set of configurations can be bound to a macro key so you just invoke that macro, not 'have to type' them. There might be other ways. I suppose asking on mailing list [email protected] or IRC #vim or https://vi.stackexchange.com/ might be enlightening. (I'm nobody's idea of a vim expert.
