I've also been wondering if the new list is will send an acknowledgement 
that I was added to the list. I have sent two messages and received no 
response. I have checked my hosts SPAM folders and do not see any reply.

I do have one filter that could discard the reply if the list isn't 
configured correctly. If the reply contains a From: header that contains my 
email address in it that message will be discarded.
