VeriSign ordered to cease and desist

I'm sure it will warm your hearts, much as it does mine, to hear that the
US court has ordered VeriSign to immediately cease their deceptive
advertising campaign.  I received one of their letters, and let me tell you,
I treasure it.

    In a preliminary hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Frederic N.  Smalkin
    agreed with BulkRegister, saying that VeriSign likely engaged in
    deceptive behavior.

    "The plaintiff has shown ... that the current 'renewal' notice sent by
    defendant to plaintiff's domain-name registrants is misleading and
    likely to cause confusion among such registrants," Smalkin wrote.

VeriSlime: we put the 'con' in dot-com.
