The way *I* use Fetchmail, I pull mail from one server to another, and from there the local server takes care of all filtering via procmail. I don't know about how that will work with you going server directly to client. However, you could also use a better email client, like Evolution, and might be able to do some client side scripting there as well. -- OOC: W.
