[OT] recommendation UML package for software design

I am working on a project that requires specifying the system design in UML 2.x.

At present,  the project is in the initial stage of talking to top
level management and discovery of processes etc.

>From *practicing* [1] Software Architects and Designers:  I would
appreciate suggestions/recommendation of  applications (FOSS or
otherwise)  that you have used to create UML diagrams.

[1] Experience of at least one project using OOAD methodology and use
of UML tools therein.  FWIW, I have searched for such tools and do
have a list.   However, it would be great if you could share your
pros/cons of the tool(s) that you have used.
