If you've got a friendly Panera or etc., then that plus a date and time
is all you need for a first get together.  I know, you aren't talking
about not letting other drop in, but I'm saying that the difference
between this and a casual get together and talk amongst outselves
meeting is not really anything more than saying that that's what it is.

No, I really don't want to do that again.  There are ... drawbacks to
being the convenor, but I don't want to discourage you by talking about
them yet.  :-/
